# The EEK Procedure Standard (EPS): OEM Spec + Our Copyrighted Process

> Every EEK job requires Manufacturer Specification (OEM Spec) and EEK Procedure Standard (EPS) (Policies §19). Here is what that means for insurers, customers, and workshops.

## Two Standards, Both Required

When a vehicle leaves an EEK contractor workshop after misfuel recovery, water-in-oil remediation, pre-export drain, or vessel fuel work, two standards must both be satisfied:

- **OEM Spec** — the vehicle manufacturer's specification for tank access, towing limits, extraction method, and component handling ([eek.nz/vehicles](/vehicles) for each make and model).

- **EEK Procedure Standard (EPS)** — EEK's operational procedure for the job type, in [Policies & Procedures §19](/policies#19) (accept → tow → extract → verify → dispose → invoice → release).

## When Contractors Confirm

Contractors confirm both at job accept in the supplier portal (OEM page + procedure excerpt) and again when submitting their invoice (separate OEM Spec and EEK Procedure Standard (EPS) checkboxes). Portal timestamps create an audit trail.
