What to Do While You Wait

After calling us, the most important thing is to avoid starting your engine. If you're at a filling station, let the staff know what's happened and, if possible, move your vehicle to a safe area by pushing it (with help) rather than driving. If you're on a roadside, turn on your hazard lights and stay somewhere safe — ideally behind a barrier or well away from traffic.

If you've already driven on the wrong fuel and your engine has stopped, leave the vehicle where it is (as long as it's safe), turn on your hazards, and wait for our technician. Do not attempt to restart the engine.
